Privacy policy.
The short version: this site collects almost nothing, sells nothing, and your messages go straight to my inbox. The long version is below.
Overview
This policy explains what information tomas.gorjux.net collects, why it's collected, and the choices you have. It applies to this website only, not to external sites I link to (like Tradsiee or my social profiles).
I run this site myself and I'd rather collect as little as possible. There are no ads, no analytics trackers, and no social-media widgets silently watching you.
What I collect
There are two situations where information is gathered:
- Messages you send. When you use the contact form I receive your name, your email address, and whatever you wrote. The form is handled by Netlify Forms, which forwards the message to my email.
- Standard server data. Like most websites, my host (Netlify) keeps brief server logs — typically your IP address, browser type, device, pages visited, and timestamps. I don't actively look at these unless something breaks or there's an abuse attempt.
How it's used
- To read and reply to messages you send me.
- To keep the site secure, working, and free of abuse.
- To understand at a very rough level whether the site is healthy.
I never sell, rent, or trade your information with anyone, and I don't use it to build a profile of you.
Third parties
One service handles your data on my behalf:
- Netlify (US-based, with a global CDN) — hosts the site, receives contact form submissions, and holds the server logs described above. Your message is transmitted over an encrypted connection and stored there until I read it.
Netlify is a reputable provider with its own privacy practices, which I encourage you to read.
Cookies & tracking
This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and doesn't use fingerprinting. Nothing follows you around after you leave.
How long it's kept
- Messages: until I've replied and the conversation has finished, unless you ask me to delete them sooner.
- Server logs: retained by Netlify for a limited period (around 30 days), then discarded automatically.
Your rights
You can ask me to see what I hold about you, correct it, or delete it — at any time, no questions asked. Under the Australian Privacy Act, and under the GDPR if you're in the EU, you may also ask to restrict or object to how your data is handled. Just email tomas@gorjux.net and I'll sort it out.
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, you can complain to Australia's Office of the Australian Information Commissioner or your local data-protection authority.
Children's privacy
I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a younger child has sent a message through the contact form, tell me and I'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If I change how the site handles data, I'll update this page and refresh the "last updated" date above. Significant changes will be noted clearly.
